• Kilim rugs are traditional, handwoven rugs that are flat-woven, meaning they do not have a pile or body, that is why they are known as flat. This makes them an attractive option if you are looking for something relatively slimline, lightweight and simple, but that still offers that handmade, authentic connection with the origins of rug-making.
• Our Matalya Kilim Hand Woven rug features a distinctive geometric design. With a cream coloured background, the Aztec inspired pattern is enhanced using colours of red and brown. The rug is complete with thin, tassels which add to the character of the rug.
• The Matalya Kilim rug is made with a mixture of premium natural fibres including wool, cotton and jute.

• Care instructions:
• Flat weave rugs don't have a pile so dirt can be more visible, so we recommend vacuuming both sides of the rug regularly.
• When vacuuming, always use the lowest power setting or "gentle" setting on your vacuum to prevent damage to the delicate fibres; avoid using a beater bar and instead opt for a soft brush attachment if available.
• Use a clean, dry cloth to blot spills immediately. Don't rub or use detergent.
• We recommend purchasing a rug pad to help prevent the rug from slipping and flattening.
• Rotate the rug regularly to prevent uneven fading and wear.
  
• Keep the rug dry to prevent mould and odour.
